The PET 2440 CNC Bore and Dowel Inserter is ideal for either the high production panel processing shop or the custom production shop.

The versatile PET 2440 allows for horizontal boring and dowel insertion in panel processing
AND
has the added feature of being capable of routing a blind dado in the side of the door rails for the insertion of the center panel on a 5-piece door ALL IN THE SAME PROGRAM without having to reintroduce the part in the machine a 2nd time.
 
 

Bore, Glue, Dowel Insertion Station with a Variable Speed Electro Spindle for Dado:

  • Both units CNC controlled and mounted on heavy duty linear bearings and rails.
  • The variable speed electro spindle is mounted on an independent linear guide, positioned forward by a pneumatic cylinder, then CNC controlled for accuracy of both bore and/or dado depth.
  • The dowel injector unit is pneumatically rotated allowing one dowel to load as the other dowel is being injected into the panel.
  • A photo eye is used to detect and ensure a dowel is loaded so the unit will not misfire.
  • Glue or water can be used.
  • Dosage of glue or water is controlled via PLC for repeated accuracy.

  • Helical Rack for X-Axis is centrally located between the 2 Standard Linear Guides (ball bearings type).

The PLC Controlled Centralized Lubrication System automatically applies oil to various lube points on the linear bearings. The system will inject oil continuously over time thereby ensuring that moving parts are always maintained and properly lubricated. This automated process involves a run and pause process thus increasing the equipment reliability and overall the plant productivity. This system eliminates the dependency on the operator to preform the weekly lubrication maintenance requirements.

 
 

4 Independent work zones. Each zone has a separate cycle start button conveniently mounted above the zone.

The PET 2440 comes STANDARD with a photo eye that monitors across the entire length of the machine to verify the operator has not miss fed a part into the path of the moving head thus helping to eliminate the possibility of causing a crash of the head with the part.

A safety guard is added across each working zones to help protect the operators hands and fingers while working in the pinch-point areas. These safety guards are not intended to replace or eliminate the safety procedures set forth in the company’s safety guide and rule book.

A red emergency pull cord runs the entire length of the work zones providing an easy access emergency stop for added safety.

 
 

Each of the 4-work zones have 2 sets of hold-down cylinders riding on twin round guides. Each set has 2 sets of cylinders that come down;
one at a 45 degree angle and one straight down creating one of the most secure clamping systems in the industry.

 
 

Heavy-duty steel frame, welded and stress relieved for a strong and robust frame.

 
 

Computer input station conveniently located to the left side of machine
with a keyboard drawer to stow away the keyboard when not in use.

Intuitive software programming designed to eliminate programming errors and wasting costly materials by allowing the
programmer to actually see the program run prior to actually executing the program with a cut simulator and graphics screen.
